Family Quilts

The first quilted wall-hanging was machine appliquéd and hand quilted in November, 2005. The pattern is a Nancy Halverson design, "Joy to the World." The wall hanging to the right was designed by "Me." I found this block in the "Square in a square" book and assigned colors that reflected Christmas, Poinsettias, etc. The designs are embroidered, Dakota Collectables. I machine and hand pieced this and hand quilted it, as we traveled to Louisiana for Thanksgiving, 2005.

David's Star Quilt- Machine Pieced 1990 Feed Sac 1997 - Machine Pieced & Hand Quilted
David's quilt is a "Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonesteel" design and was never quilted and it burned in our house fire in September of 2001 (13 days after 9-11).
My sister Sue gave me this feed sac that she bought at the Canton, Texas, flea market.
Since David's first quilt burned in the fire, he designed this one with Amazing Designs Cars II machine embroidery designs. This the Double Irish Chain was machine pieced and hand quilted. It is king size but used as a spread on a queen bed. This was David's graduation gift, May 2002.
Star Flower 100 % handmade for my husband, Richard 1990 Trip Around the World
The Trip Around the World quilt was machine pieced & hand Quilted in 1993. I actually started this quilt in 1982 and put it up for 10 years. But I did finish it. I'm slow but sure. Most of the time anyway! hehe
